Folios 87-90. From Thomas Rogers. To King George I.
The petition of Thomas Rogers for letters patent concerning his invention of a steel worm, or rowling spring, to be used in coaches or any other carriages. Endorsed by Lord Townsend, at Windsor [Berkshire], on 18 September 1724. (1) The affidavit of the petitioning inventor, an artificer, of St Dunstans in the West, [Fleet Street, London], dated on 22 September [1724]. Witnessed by W Thurston. (2) Philip Yorke, the Attorney-general's report in favour of the petitioner, dated on 25 September [1724].
