Folio 111. Robert, Lord Rutherford to the King. Petition to be granted any favour the King should see fit. Lord Rutherford has only a small annuity of £160 that will cease on his death leaving his wife and family exposed to this century's calamities. He stresses that he has never questioned the Protestant succession and never betrayed the King. He refers to the Glorious Revolution [1688] and 'the latest inhuman rebellion' [Jacobite Rebellion of 1715]. The Earl of Scarborough [probably Richard Lumley died 1721] can attest to Rutherford's merit.
