Folio 103. William Jeffes of the Great Minories, Aldgate brewer, to the King. Petition that he has been bound over to appear at Westminster at the next term for speaking disrespectfully of the King of which he (Jeffes) has no recollection being then drunk and praying if any orders for his prosecution have been issued they are stopped and if none they be prevented and a nolle prosequi entered promising to keep a stricter watch over his drinking. [See also SP 35/12/190. Note the Discovery reference is to 101 which is the number allocated on re foliation].
