Folio 90. Peter Delafountain [Pierre de la Fountaine], formerly an officer in the Dutch service and now a prisoner in Newgate, to the Duke of Newcastle. Petition praying that the Duke intercede with the King to obtain a free pardon for him. He says he has been a prisoner for three years and three months and that Lord Gage and Robert Daniel, 'late secretary to his Majesty at the Court of Brussels' will vouch for the truth of his petition. He mentions having been introduced six years previously to the Prince and Princess of Wales [Frederick and Augusta] by Lord Gage and the late Lord Darnley. [Note Delafountain was convicted 5 December 1746]. See also SP 36/117/1/72].
