Folios 90-91. Petition to the King of Alice Stevenson, widow of Richard Stevenson, who had served 14 years in His Majesty's Regiment of Horse, commanded by the late Lord Cathcart. Stevenson had suffered ill health, was allowed to quit the Regiment and died in 1742. He had owned several estates which his brother John has now taken possession of, as she was unwell, with child, and unable to claim her rightful inheritance. He has used Ecclesiastical Courts and appeals in Ireland to prevent her taking possession. She petitions for the King's help in her case.
