Folios 74-75. The Petition to the Duke of Newcastle of the unlawfully detained slaves in Algear [Algiers]. As sea faring men who have been employed by His Majesty, they have been caught up in a conflict between the Dey of Algiers and Spain, and are now locked in irons and treated as slaves. 20 signatures including John Thomas, Daniell Griffith and John Rogers.
