Folio 68. The Petition to the Duke of Newcastle of John Shoosmith on behalf of his brother Philip Shoosmith who served in the Royal Navy and afterwards as Tidesman in the Port of London. He has died leaving his widow and children unprovided for, and his brother, the petitioner, who was in the Royal Navy but lost his left hand in an engagement, and is now an Extra Tidesman, is unable to assist his brother's family.
