Folios 63-65. The Petition to the King of John Sherlock who settled in Spain due to misfortunes experienced by his father. He had to accept a Captain's commision in the service of the Spanish Crown in order to earn a living. He was not aware that he could be condemned for High Treason if there were a declaration of war, despite his never having been guilty of a treasonable act. He asks for a Pardon. Two copies.
