A letter requesting that Lord Townsend may be advised that 'there is villany on foot' concerning him, Lord [John] Carteret [Secretary of State for the Southern Department], the Earl of Macclesfield, Robert Walpool [Walpole], and others men of quality, which the author may avert if his gaoler is ordered to bring the author before the recipient.
