Folios 93-95. From O Sedgwick. To Spencer Compton.
By an advertisement in the paper enclosed your Honour will observe how unwilling I am to lie under any censure for the omissions of others. I had promises, nay assurances: but after keeping my petition some time, it was returned me with an excuse from the lateness of the session. As I had no other view than the good of my country, I dare assure myself of the continuance of your Honour's favour whenever I appear in the same cause or any other like it; and when I beg it on any other account I will not be disappointed in the rejection of 'my 'most humble request'. Enclosed copy of The Daily Post of 20 February 1722 containing an advertisement that in the next few days there will be published 'A full and fair narrative of the burning of the two Turkey ships together with secret passages before and after supported by affidavits and original papers'.
