'Draft letter proposing that Stanhope apply for a patent from the Court of Spain 'in order to fish upon the wreck at Vigo' and citing the riches recovered during the reign of King James ll by the Duke of Albemarle, Sir William Phipps and other from a wreck off Bermuda, which would have been greater had there been 'an engine to perform in that way more than can be done by natural diving'. There is now such an engine [?diving bell]. ?Relates to the sunken Spanish silver fleet at the Battle of Vigo Bay in 1702.
