Description

Folios 166-167. William Norton to the King. Petition. That he was employed as Master of Music when the King was Prince of Wales and was at all times paid by Mr Schutz; that on the King's accession he failed to be made one of the Band of Music and now prays to put on the Establishment of pay in place of the late James Graves, one of the hautboys [oboe players], it being in the King's private gift in his small set of hautboys.[royal musicians] Two copies. [James Graves December 1731].
