Folio 149. Captain Henry Moryson to the King. Petition. That it is two years since he presented a memorial to the King which was sent to Lord Carteret and in relation to which the King 'was also so compassionate as to say something ought to be done for him in consideration of his great misfortunes'. Notwithstanding this he is still unprovided for. He prays that the King read the certificate and recommendation at the foot of the petition in the light of which he hopes the King will order him either a post in the Army, a place with the Royal family or a pension. The certificate and recommendation gives the history of Moryson's military service and is signed by Lords Carpenter and Hinchingbrook, W Tallon, Will [William] Evans, C Sibourg, G Macartney, J Wightman, P Honywood, De Loraine, R Russell, A Bisset, Wm [William] Watkins, Will [William] Lloyd, Tho [Thomas] Sidney, Ch [Charles] DuBourgay and Will [William] Kerr.
