Folios 146-147. Translation of the memorial of Father John Joseph del Moral, a friar of the Order of Hospitality of St John de Dios, native of Mexico, New Spain, who with a fellow friar was travelling from Cadiz to New Spain aboard the 'Sancti Petri', commanded by Don Joachim de Esnal, when the ship was seized by a British man of war off Madeira. After four months at sea he and his companion are being held in Plymouth jail and he requests that since they are neither allowed to use arms nor urge others to do so they be released so that they may return to their own country.
