Folio 98. Jane Lawrence to the King. Petition. That she was servant to John Bridges at Cobham, Surrey when the King, the late Queen [Caroline], the Princess of Orange and others called at the house and Bridges not being there 'they were graciously pleased to accept of her humble endeavours' to accommodate them with horses and 'such refreshments as the house afforded' which was particularly appreciated by the late Queen who said 'she would remember them some other time'. Being now 70 years old and reduced to the utmost distress she humbly craves the King's 'charitable remembrance' in such manner as he sees fit.
