Folios 90-91. John Keymer, Richd [Richard] Palmer and John Dukes, weavers, to the Duke of Newcastle. Two identical petitions the second with a certificate verifying the truth of the contents signed by Augustin Connell, John Fox, Joseph Taylor, John Baker, Geo [George] Bridges and Stephen Bouchet. Keymer having been approached by Spanish agents and offered a large sum of money to go to Spain with others 'to work up wool, woollen yarn and silk' disclosed the plan to John Fall, one of the Justices of the Peace for Middlesex, and was ordered by the Lords of the Regency to put a stop to and apprehend the agents which was done. The petitioners having received nothing for their loss of time, trouble and expenses in discovering the plan pray for relief and 'encouragement'. [See also T 1/335/62].
