Petition in which he details his services to the Crown as a member in the Scots and British Parliaments and as a Commissioner of the Treaty of Union [in 1707] and praying for a pension of £400 a year in recognition both of his past sufferings and services and of the great loss his family has sustained by reason of his time being taken up so much by his public service.
