Folio 73. Marthe [Martha] widow of Sir Robert Johnson to the King. Petition. That her husband served the Crown for many years in the Royal Navy, was knighted for his services in the last war [? War of the Quadruple Alliance against Spain] and unhappily perished with two of his sons in a great storm off the Cape of Good Hope [5 June 1723] leaving her with four small children and destitute. She prays that in light of her late husband's service and her losses she be granted a pension.
