Folios 114-115. Daniel Croker, a writing clerk in the Parliament office. (1) Petition to the House of Lords. That not only has he been removed by James Merest, the Clerk Assistant, for refusing 'to copy a manuscript book being a collection of superstitious and idolatrous forms of prayer' but Merest has improperly retained money due to Croker who, in addition, says that the King's Annual Bounty to the Clerks of the Writing Office for the year 1733 'is greatly abused' and praying that his petition be referred to a committee which Merest be called to attend and for relief. Endorsed 'to be restored to his place in the Parliament Office'. (2) Letter to the King asking that he order Croker's petition to be read by the House of Lords.
