Folio 87. The Case of Simon Clement formerly residing as Secretary at the Court of Vienna. Dismissed by Lord Townshend's letter 'now in his 81st year' is still owed about £2,000 but not being on the Establishment is unable to get any part of it so prays to be recommended to the King for 'some such pension or bounty as may enable him to pass his old age (being now in his 81st year) comfortably'. [According to the burial records of the Quarterly Meeting of London and Middlesex of the Society of Friends he died 18 February 1735/6 aged about 82].
