Folios 83-84. Jean Clarke wife of Major David Clarke to the King. Petition for renewal of the warrant issued in January 1703/4 by Queen Anne putting Major Clarke on the list of Invalids in Scotland at a daily allowance of 2s 6d which was not paid at all before the Union and since then has been at the rate of 7d a day and because the arrears of the allowance are too great she does not expect them to be paid and asks for some sum to enable her to pay debts and return home. Annexed is a copy of the warrant extracted on 11 March 1714 [1715] from the records of the Treasury of Scotland preceding the Union.
