Folios 81-82. James Clarke to the King. Petition that having acted, at the request of John Forster then Recorder of Dublin, as agent for the Lord Mayor and Corporation in all the prosecutions 'at that time carried on and unjustly supported against them' in the King's Bench even though he knew this would incur the judges' displeasure and risk losing his business, which has come about and brought him to 'low and miserable circumstances' he be placed on the Irish Establishment for such pension as the King thinks proper. The Pretender is mentioned. [Note John Forster was Recorder from 1701 to 20 September 1714 when he was appointed Chief Justice of the Irish Common Pleas. He died 2 July 1720].
