Folio 68. Edith Carleton wife of Benbow Carleton [Calton], grandson of Admiral Benbow and 'a grenadier in the battalion now abroad, of the 3rd Regiment of Foot Guards', to the Duke of Newcastle. Petition for a passport to go to her husband who comes of age 'this month', is sick in Maastricht hospital and likely to die. [Note Benbow Calton, son of Paul and Catherine, was baptised 15 December 1726 at Milton, Berkshire].
