Folios 58-60. Memorials of Sir William Vigors Burdett Baronet [now Weldon Baronetcy, County of Carlow, Ireland] to the King George II. The first one is addressed to the King, asking for financial help. Sir Burdett helped uncover a plot against the Crown when he was residing at The Hague, a plot fomented by the Earl of Desmond. He was rewarded and recommended by the Princess and the Prince of Orange, but after a long stay in London finds himself reduced to distress, with a wife and three children to support. Mentions the Earl of Sandwich, the Earl of hesterfield, the Duke of Newcastle; and King George I who created the baronetcy for his father [Sir Thomas Burdett], and is asking Newcastle to recommend him to the King for 'such that would discharge his debts', and a pension or employment that would enable him to support his family.
