Judges of the High Court of Admiralty: Miscellaneous Papers 8A-8J:-

  • 8A: [not found];
  • 8B: Copy of Sr Thomas Salusbury's patent as Judge of the High Court of Admiralty, 1751;
  • 8C: 1-6, letters from Sir James Marriott, 1793-1797
  • 8D: three copies of correspondence between Sir Christopher Robinson, John Barrow and J Stewart on the emolument of the office of the Judge of the Admiralty, 1831 [identical copies on a slightly waxed paper using an unidentified form of automatic writing];
  • 8E: warm wishes to and form the proctors of the Court of Arches on the retirement of William Wynne as Dean of the Arches, 1809;
  • 8F: Statement of facts on the application by Anthony McKemot to be released from prison (to which he had been sent for failing in 1810 to bring in the profits of the prize Huldah and Anna), 1812
  • 8G: Dr Lushington's opinion on salvage to the Royal Navy, with the printed memorial of ship owners citing the cases of the ships Clifton, Lustre, Rapid, William Peile, Sappho and Lancashire Witch, 1852;
  • 8H: Sir William Scott's manuscript notes on the Santa Cruz, 1798 [See HCA 32/843/131, and the report on the case in Christopher Robinson, Reports of Cases ... in the High Court of Admiralty, Vol 1, pp 49-79], 1812;
  • 8I: 1 letter now added to 8D, above;
  • 8J: Sir William Scott's response to the congratulations of the proctors on his elevation to the peerage as Lord Stowell, 1821;
