Description

Folio 130. Statement of the case of Thomas Davis, soldier in Major-General Howard's Regiment of Foot, who killed John Mather, a noted Scottish smuggler. [The trial took place in early March 1740 with the verdict given on 11 March]. [See also SP 36/50/166].
