Description

Folios 110-111. Petition of John Combe, apothecary of Southampton Street, Bloomsbury, to John, Duke of Bedford praying that William Dighton convicted of burglary be pardoned only on condition that he discovers his accomplices. Combe's names Dighton's wife as Elizabeth Cane 'a notorious woman who had been transported but five years ago for 14 years'. [Old Bailey Online gives Elizabeth Cane's date of conviction as 5 December 1744].
