Folios 84-85. Petition of Jeffery Ereth (69) formerly of Belchamp St Paul, Essex and Joseph Deeks to William Pitt one of the Principal Secretaries of State for a pardon having been sentenced to transportation for stealing two bushels of wheat. They give the reasons for the theft as does Thomas Young (26) convicted of the same offence and who asks that he be allowed to serve in the Army 'for the rest of his life'.
