Administrative / biographical background

Area Regeneration Programmes Division (ARPD) was formed in 1996 when the Action for Cities Co-ordination Unit (ACU) was split into the English Partnerships Sponsorship Branch (EPSB) and the Cities Policy Co-ordination Division (CPCD).

ARPD was responsible for the management of programmes within the Single Regeneration Budget and departmental relations with the voluntary sector and faith issues, including sponsorship of the Inner Cities Religious Council. The majority of the division's work was non-primary, representing the Department of the Environment (DoE) in a wide range of programmes. The ARPD was absorbed into the Regeneration Division in 1998.
