Folios 160-163. Letter from Lord Milford [Lord Lieutenant of Pembrokeshire] requesting that Mr Philipps, magistrate of the Public Office, Shadwell [Middlesex], be transferred to fill the vacancy that has arisen at Queen Square [Westminster].
Enclosed is [a transcript] of a letter of 8 April to Milford from R B Prust, [Mayor of] Haverfordwest, describing the prospect of a popular rising against men of property and an expectation of a landing by the French on the Pembrokeshire coast. Three sail of the line and two corvettes had been seen offshore.
