Description

Captured ship: Fort Zeelandia of Flushing (Vlissingen) (master Cornelis Bastiaensen) continued

History: a Dutch merchant ship, bound from Surinam to Vlissingen, laden with sugar, letter wood and indigo; taken on 13 March 1672 off the Isle of Wight by HMS Nightingale (Henry Clarke commanding), and brought into Portsmouth.
