Description

Captured ship: Hope of Middelburg, otherwise Hoop (continued) (master Jan [de] Meyer, otherwise Jan de Meijert)

History: a Dutch merchant ship, bound from St Kitts to Middelburg, laden with sugar, indigo, tobacco, ginger and hides; three passengers; taken in mid-January 1665 by the hired naval ship John and Margaret (George Chapell commanding), and brought into Falmouth on 1 February, about 14 days later.
