Folios 439-454: (Paper number M 02170/14) Rescued Officers and Men taken to a Dutch Port. Question of Internment. Correspondence to ensure return of Officers and Men invoking Article 15 of the Hague Convention.

Folios 455-458: (Paper number NL 16788/14) Coriander, assistance rendered to survivors of HMS Aboukir, HMS Cressy and HMS Hogue, dated 23 September 1914. Coriander’s Master, T. Phillips recommended for a medal for rescuing 156 officers and men.

Folio 459-469: (Paper number NL 16864/14) Rewards for crews of smacks who rescued crews of Armoured Cruisers., Commander-in-Chief Lowestoft, dated 25 September 1914. Statements by Skipper George Jacobs of J.G.C. (LT 639) on rescuing survivors.

Folio 470-475: (Paper number NL 16943/14). Suggested official recognition of services of trawlers “J.G.C. LT 639 (Crew: George Jacobs, Skipper; Fred Stannard, Mate; William Simpson, 3rd Hand; William Beckham, 4th Hand; James Reynold, 5th Hand)” and “Coriander LT 153 (Crew: Thomas Phillips, Skipper; Fred Aldred, Mate; John Watson, 3rd Hand; James Sandford, 4th Hand; Harry Boast, 5th Hand)” in rescuing crews of HMS Hogue, HMS Aboukir and HMS Cressy. Mayor of Lowestoft, 26 September 1914. Correspondence recommending awards.

Folios 494-524: Draft Press Release recommending award of Silver Medal for Gallantry in saving Life at Sea to Mr Thomas Neason Phillips, skipper of “Coriander”, Mr George Edward Jacobs skipper of “J.G.C.”, Mr Roelof Pieter Voorman, master of “Flora”, and Mr Johan Adam Berkhout, master of Titan (folio 496). (Paper Treasury 27 October 1914) Draft letter respecting awards to masters of ships which helped Rescue Survivors. Correspondence and draft letters on awards and gratuity for crews of the four rescue vessels.

Folios 525-531: (Paper number NL 17268/14) Services Rendered by Trawlers Coriander and “J.G.C.” to Survivors, Mayor of Lowestoft, 5 October 1914. Letter on expenses incurred during rescue and asking to present awards, (folio 526). Reports by William Augustus Simpson and George Jacobs of “J.G.C.”.

Folios 532-536: (Paper number NL 17508/14) Award of Silver Medal for Gallantry to skippers of trawlers and Dutch Steamers assisting in rescuing survivors of HMS Cressy, Board of Trade, dated 12 October 1914. King agrees to the award of the Silver Medals.

Folios 537-548: (Paper number NL 17659/14) Recognition of services of crews of Dutch S.S. Flora and Titan in rescuing crews of HMS Cressy, Foreign Office, 14 October 1914. Masters of Flora and Titan prefer an engraved plate rather than a gratuity. List of their crews, (folios 537-543). Reward to the Dutch ships who assisted in the rescue of survivors, Treasury, 27 October 1914. (Paper number NL 18387/14) Money approved for engraved plates and gratuities for the crews, (folios 544-548).

Folios 549-559: (Paper number M 18498/14) Return of overcoats loaned by the Dutch Government, Commander-in-Chief Nore. Correspondence regarding overcoats provided to the survivors. Gift of tobacco from L.Van Leer & Co., (folio 554). Folios 560-567: (Paper number M 18658/14) Loan of overcoats by the Dutch Government, Commander-in-Chief Nore. Correspondence regarding missing coat.

Folios 568-586: Silver Medal Awarded to the Masters of Flora and Titan has been forwarded to Foreign Office, Board of Trade, 10 November 1914, (folios 568-570). Foreign Office, 21 December 1914, (Paper number NL 21831/14) requesting Dutch Government for permission for Sir Alan Johnson, HM Minister The Hague, to present the awards, (folios 571-577). Foreign Office, 2 February 1915, (paper number NL 16557/14) presentation of inscribed cups and medals to both Masters. Signed receipts from crews and Masters, (folios 578-586).

Folios 587-594. (Paper number NL 19688/15) Proposed increase in rewards to vessels which assisted survivors, Treasury, 29 March 1915. Increasing the award from £100 to £200 to each British vessel, (folios 587-594). Accountant General, 10 April 1915, Mayor of Lowestoft to ensure additional awards are distributed to crews, (folios 595-600).
