Folio 94. Petition of Thomas Welch for mercy having been capitally convicted [at the Old Bailey] of highway robbery on the sole evidence of John Courtney. He mentions John Armstrong and 'a most infamous pickpocket who goes by the name of Black Moll'. [Old Bailey Online gives the trial date as 16 January 1755 and a respite on 3 February 1755].
