Petitions and letters: Grindall says that he was found guilty of assaulting the prosecutrix, Ann Bird, but protests his innocence. They were walking across a field to the Cambridge Inn when the woman accused him of stealing her handkerchief and said she would swear a rape against him. He denies any improper conduct and encloses declarations relating to his claim that the prosecutrix falsely swore that she was a married woman.
