Description

Envelope typed 'Summit old station', first of two mounted on reverse of item 34, containing eight photographic postcards of Snowdon Mountain Tramroad Summit station and hotel:

1) Colour tinted postcard with printed title on face, railway looking towards summit hotel buildings, train in right middle distance [image c.1910], 9cm x 14cm.

2) Colour tinted postcard with printed title on face, railway looking towards summit hotel buildings and station, train in centre middle distance [image c.1910], 9cm x 14cm.

3) Monochrome postcard by W H S [W H Smith], No S6602, Summit station with train [image c.1910], 8cm x 13cm.

4) Colour tinted postcard by North Wales Post Card Company, Rhyl, with printed title on face and scribbled address and message on reverse, view to summit, station and train at right, postmarked 18 September 1911, 9cm x 14cm.

5) Monochrome postcard with printed title and 'Summit of Snowdon' stamp on face, manuscript address and message on reverse, view to summit with locomotive [No 2] 'Wyddfa' and train in right foreground, postmarked 1 August 1916, 9cm x 14cm.

6) Monochrome postcard with printed title on face, Summit station centre and left, hotel buildings upper right [image c. 1920], 9cm x 14cm.

7) Monochrome postcard by Photochrom Company, No 61921, with printed title on face and typed caption on reverse, view towards station, train on horizon, snow on cutting side [image c. 1920], donated 1954 by Glyn Hugh Jones, 8cm x 13cm.

8) Monochrome postcard by Photochrom Company, No 66621, with printed title on face, station and hotel buildings from below station, trainload of passengers below hotel [image c.1925], 8cm x 13cm.

9) Cutting, mounted on paper typed 'Snowdon Mountain Railway', from 'Bradshaw' November 1920, timetable (special trains only, by arrangement).
