Captured ship: Hope or Esperance (master Obed Paddock).
Nationality: American.
History: bound from a whaling voyage in the Pacific Ocean to Nantucket, laden with spermaceti oil, head oil, whale oil and whale bone; taken on 14 November 1793 by the privateer Fox (James Hopper commanding), and brought into Barbados
