Folio 308: Report by the Lieutenant Colonel Governor of the Seychelles dated 10 November 1914 that the Gabriele having visited the Aldabra Island on the 31 August witnessed the German steamer Somali anchored off the Island which lit flares and on the next day the Koningsberg arrived and coaled from the Somuli. The manager of the Island in ignorance of war having broken out attempted to board the Konigsberg but was told no one could approach as small pox was on board. The Konigsberg cleared without landing as soon as coaling was complete.
