Place of accident: Barry Permanent Way Stores, Glamorgan.
Injury: Top of thumb burst.
Details of accident: While in the act of stamping numbers on the ends of scaffold poles the hammer which he was using came in contact with some boards as Williams was striking. This caused the hammer to glance of the stamp onto his left thumb.
