Captured ship: St John Baptist otherwise San Giovanni Battista (master John Baptist Terrazzano).
History: a Genoese ship (pink, 22 men), bound from Manfredonia and Pozzoli to Genoa, laden with corn; taken on 8 July 1745 in the Piombino channel by HMS Lowestoft (John Bowdler commanding), and brought into Leghorn (Livorno).
Court Papers: [CP 1]: decree imparted at the Vice-Admiralty Court of Minorca, 28 November 1748 (translation from the Spanish). [Appeal papers are at HCA 42/35/2]
