Petition addressed to the Earl of Holderness by Richard Riches, Henry Wright, Richard Parsons, James Allington, Robert Martin, Thomas Seager, William Pearse, Richard Boxer, Thomas Calsea, Thomas Banks and others severally tried for smuggling and acquitted but detained in Newgate on writs of capias ad satisfaciendum issued out of the Court of Exchequer at the suit of the Crown and praying for mercy 'in such sort as to His Majesty's wisdom shall seem meet'.
