Ch [Charles] Erskine, Lord Justice Clerk, Edinburgh to the Earl of Holderness, that all is quiet in the country; requesting instructions in relation to the two McDonalds and the soldier condemned at Perth; putting forward proposals for filling vacant posts in various parishes in connection with which he mentions Hugh Blair, a Mr Chambers recommended by Lord Findlater and Alexander Stuart.
