Folios 3-4. Lieutenant-General Hum [Humphrey] Bland, Edinburgh, to the Earl of Holderness regarding the case of Alexander McDonald, a 'Popish Priest' who, he argues, 'should be tried for his life for the sake of example, as it is the only effectual means of detering these vermin from coming into this country in the open manner they have lately done in order to debauch his Majesty's subjects from their religion and loyalty, in which they have hitherto had great success'. He also writes about McDonald of Glengarry's son and McDonald of Lochgarry.
