Examination of Sergeant Peter Smith, born at Athlone, West Meath [Ireland], giving details of his life before and after enlisting in Captain Lee's company of Buckley's Regiment; and how and why he deserted; the strength of Lord John Drummond's Regiment [in the service of France] from which he deserted; the raising of men for enlistment by Lieutenants Musket and Baxter and the reported embarkation of French troops (the regiments of Artois, Bayonne and others) at Brest for either 'Virginia or Pondicherry'.
