Description

Folios 83-84. Everard Fawkener to Sir Tho [Thomas] Robinson that, in accordance with Robinson's letter of 13 March, the necessary orders have been given to the packet boat agents at Dover and Harwich. He also gives warning about the passage boats at Dover being used for 'smuggling and carrying on the most dangerous intercourse' and cites the example of a boat employed by the Government for carrying on the cartel during the last war [War of the Austrian Succession].
