Captain Wm [William] Arnott, Dover Castle, [Kent] to Sir Thomas Robinson that the bearer, Walter Brown private in General Wolfe's Regiment, will give all the information he can about a French deserter, a sergeant who goes by the name of Smith but is believed to be a Mr Creighton of Auchingoul, Aberdeenshire taken prisoner at the Battle of Culloden and afterwards held at Carlisle.
