Bargain and sale, indented by John Hardware of Boughton, Cheshire, gent, to Thomas Whitbie [Whitby] of the same, gent, of three closes of land called the Hoole Heath and the two Little Birches in Boughton, for £100, with letter of attorney in favour of Richard Ball and Thomas Bennett of Boughton. Seal and signature of John Hardware. Witnesses:- John Ratclyff; Nicholas Ince; Peter Drinkwater; Robert Ince; Richard Bennett; Richard Hobs.
Endorsed with two memoranda: (1) that John Hardware agreed for himself and his heirs to discharge Thomas Whitbie [Whitby] from all rents and payments due on the lands to the dean and chapter of the cathedral church of Chester, witnessed by John Ratclyffe, Nicholas Ince, Peter Drinkwater, Robert Ince, Richard Bennett and Richard Hobs; (2) that seisin of the closes called Little Birches was delivered to the attorneys of Thomas Whitbie [Whitby] on 28 December 1619, in the presence of William Charles, John Johnes, Thomas Ball, Richard Bennett and Robert Bennett.
