Bargain and sale, indented, by Edward Foxe of Windle, Lancashire, gent, to Thomas Whitbie [Whitby] of Chester, alderman, of the capital messuage in Boughton, Cheshire, for £142, with letter of attorney in favour of John Hardware of Boughton and Thomas Ball. Seal and signature of Edward Foxe. Witnesses:- John Hardware; Nicholas Ince; Thomas Knowles; Thomas Humphreys; Robert Bennett.
Endorsed with two memoranda: (1) that seisin was delivered to the attorneys on 6 May 1619 in the presence of John Hardware, Thomas Ball, Thomas Knowles and Robert Bennett; (2) that on 6 May 1619 John Hardware, tenant of the capital messuage, delivered 4d to Thomas Whitbie [Whitby], in the presence of Thomas Knowles, Thomas Ball, and Robert Bennett.
