Bargain and sale, indented, by Thomas Whitbie [Whitby] of Chester, gent, and Sara, his wife, to William Massie esq of Potington, Cheshire, of a messuage, lands, and tenements in Caughall, Cheshire, late in the possession of Thomas Tyddesley of Caughall, husbandman, and of the inheritance of Thomas Hanley of Boughton, Cheshire, deceased, father of Sara, for £145. Seal and signature of William Massie. Witnesses:- Hugh Davenport; Peter Drinkwater; Gruffudd Price; John Cottingham; Robert Burton; John Worrall; Lancelot Frank.
Endorsed:- An indenture of lease to Thomas Tyddesley and Joanne, his wife, for the term of their lives, shall stand. Thomas Whitbie [Whitby] and Sara constitute Thomas Bevington of Chester, beer brewer, and John Cottingham of Ledsham, Cheshire, gentleman.
