Encloses a letter from H. Chamberlain, HM Charge des Affaires in Rio de Janeiro concerning the equipment and destination of a brig the True Blooded Yankee. He states that the Portuguese government were already aware of it and had thrown the captain in prison. He also had information about the Zepher, owned by the government in Buenos Ayres,commanded by a Mr. Taylor and sailing inder English colours which has captured a Spanish ships laden with 300 pipes of brandy.
Folios 389-390: enclosures with folios 382-383. Letter dated 26 August 1815 by H. Chamberlain, [Charge des Affaires] Rio de Janeiro.
Provides the names of British subjects recruited by a Mr. Jewett who sailed from Rio de Janeiro in a brig called the Two Regents to join the crew of the True Blooded Yankee for a piratical expedition. Those who were originally part of the crew of British ship Economy: Edmund Williams, Robert Cowell, John Ashcroft, William Mossop, William Thompson. Engaged in public houses in Rio: James Dockson, George Moore, John Buchanan, John Thompson, James Nancalis and Timothy Treacey Clarke.
